FELLOWSHIP AS AN AREA OF MINISTRY IN 2010

     SHEPHERD: David Koone

     DEACON: Daniel Harless

CONTACT FORM (To be completed if you have questions or want to volunteer)

Following the pattern of the first century church, we believe that the Vilonia church should have all things in common.  (Acts 2:44-47)  The church is made up of many individuals with diverse background, each celebrating the fact that they have found redemption through a common Savior.  The ways in which we celebrate that redemption are wide and varied.  Each of those ways has a purpose and that is to help us remain faithful and grow in our knowledge of our Lord.  The Fellowship ministry includes a broad range of activities - from single events that take place each year to regular gatherings.  Some of those activities are listed below for your consideration.  Won't you consider being a part of these?

If you can help with any of the programs listed below, please contact the shepherd or deacon responsible for the work (above).  Listed below are a number of ways in which you can help.  These lists are not all-inclusive, but merely suggestions to help as you consider being involved in this work.  If your talents, gifts and abilities prepare you to be involved in Fellowship, we encourage you to do so.

ONE HEART, ONE HOME

A program new to Vilonia in 2010, the purpose of One Heart, One Home is to encourage each Christian family to be involved in the lives of others.  This begins with hospitality.  While a number of ideas have been exchanged, this program is still in it's infancy and needs a great deal of support.  As the name implies, each of us should feel as at home in a brother's home as we do in our own.

     HOW CAN YOU HELP?

  • By providing ideas, strategy, vision and tactical support for this new program

  • Serve as a host and entertain in your home

BEYOND THE FIRST VISIT

Another program new to VCC, the focus of this initiative will be visitors to our community and church.  Most of us can relate to the feelings of insecurity at visiting a church for the first time.  Where do I go?  How do I become involved?  This program will be designed to help visitors overcome those feelings.  In addition to spiritual guidance we want visitors to know their way around the Vilonia church, answering a wide range of questions.  Everything from "where can I find the restroom?" to "why do you worship in the manner that you do?"

     HOW CAN YOU HELP?

  • Volunteering to be a host for this program - either by having someone in your home, visiting them, or taking them out

  • Relate your experiences with VCC and "tell our story"
